I am still struggling to test my components, I managed to add a first person character after completing the door component. As the door works off of proximity the first person character that I managed to add (consisting of mannequin arms and a gun) worked well enough for the purposes of testing the door. However, I had not considered then that I would need free hands able to press and grab for the other tasks. I have been looking for tutorials, articles or other information on how I could resolve this but I am really struggling to. I am concerned about the amount of time I am spending on trying to find a solution for this and not focusing on other tasks. I have also been struggling to make use of added sessions and therefore the help at university due to my work schedule.
I have found tutorials by the technical designer and Cykyria for VR hand animation that seem a little more promising, but the links to the hand models provided in the video description require payment or doesn't provide a hand model any longer. He does state that it is the hand model provided by Oculus so I have downloaded the model there, but he also stated this version has orientation issues which I am not sure how to fix.
